Properties for sale in Las Terrenas

Las Terrenas sits on the north shore of the Samaná peninsula, two and a half hours east of Sosúa and twenty minutes from El Catey airport. It was a fishing village until French and Italian families settled it in the 1980s, and it still feels like the Mediterranean moved to the Caribbean: bakeries, wine shops, a dozen good restaurants and a beachfront that runs for kilometres.

Property follows the coast. Playa Bonita and Cosón have villas on or just behind the sand; Punta Popy and the town centre have condos that rent year round; the hills toward El Limón have land with views over the whole bay. Prices are comparable to Sosúa for similar quality, with far fewer gated communities and more individual houses.

Buyers who want a European-flavoured village with a real beach, and who do not mind being further from the big-city services of Santiago and Santo Domingo, usually fall for Las Terrenas on the first visit.
